Pre-School Program
Pre-school (Age 3 to early 4)
Pre-School is a time when children first experience the feelings of self-worth, self-respect and learn the meaning of friendship and respect for others. Honey Bee Academy offers a multisensory program in a trusting and open environment that encourages creativity and personal development. Group activities are also planned to be non-competitive and are self-paced so that each child can delight in the joy of learning.
Large Muscle Development – Jumping, balancing, climbing
Small Muscle Development – Cutting, lacing, constructing
Dramatic Play – Role playing, imagining and pretending
Arts & Crafts – Expressing creations in drawings, paintings or sculptures
Music Appreciation – Identifying instruments, musical sounds and following the rhythm of the beat
*Science – Predicting weather & what to wear, exploring the world outdoors (plants/animals/insects), identifying nutritious foods
*Math – Sorting by shape/color/size, develop reasoning skills, concepts of estimation/ measurement and historical time (present/past/future); Also basic computer skills such as manipulating a mouse or touch screen & navigating an on-screen menu
*Language Arts – Development of listening, speaking, early reading and writing skills, alphabet letter and sound recognition, ability to follow multi-step directions and answer open ended questions
Language Enrichment- Optional weekly multi-lingual language program
Outdoor Play – Twice daily, weather permitting for large muscle development

Our commitment to help our children “go above and bee-yond” ensures you are kept informed of your child’s progress and development. A daily log of your child’s learning activities as well as feeding, sleeping and daily social behaviors will be provided along with recommendations of what you can do at home to further engage your child and encourage learning.
